GIFs are perfect for short animations, before-and-after flips, simple slideshows and reactions. You can make one from ordinary photos in a minute.

Make the GIF

  1. Open the GIF Maker.
  2. Add your photos, up to 30.
  3. Put them in order with the up and down arrows next to each photo.
  4. Choose:
    • Time per image: 0.1–0.2 seconds for motion, 1–2 seconds for a slideshow.
    • Repeat: forever, or play once.
    • Shape and size: 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 or 9:16, and 320–800 pixels wide.
  5. Click the button and download your GIF.

Photos of different shapes are fitted into the frame without cropping, with the background color filling any gaps.

Tips for a great GIF

  • Keep it small. GIFs store every frame in full, so 480–600 px wide and 10–20 frames is a good balance.
  • Use similar photos. Frames from a burst or the same angle animate smoothly.
  • Mind the colors. GIF has a 256-color limit, so photos with smooth gradients may show some banding.

Alternatives

  • For a still image of several photos, use Combine Images to put them side by side.
  • For smaller animations on your own website, animated WebP is much lighter than GIF.
